Mike Lester

Mike Lester is a Resident in Counseling with over 15 years of experience providing therapeutic services.

He has approximately 18 years of experience working in the mental health services field, providing support to children and adults across a variety of settings. Mike earned his bachelor's degree in Sociology, with an emphasis in Correctional Rehabilitation, from Concord University.  He later obtained a master's degree in Education and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College.

 

Throughout Mike's career,  he has worked in substance use treatment, school-based mental health, and correctional settings, giving him experience supporting individuals with diverse backgrounds and unique challenges. His counseling approach is person-centered, emphasizing a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship. Mike also incorporates evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop practical skills, build resilience, and work toward meaningful personal growth.
