Psychodynamic theory is a therapeutic approach that explores how unconscious processes, early life experiences, and recurring relationship patterns shape current emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. It is based on the idea that unresolved conflicts or unmet emotional needs—often formed in childhood—can influence mental health in ways people may not fully recognize.
